Dafne Martínez Martínez

Born and raised in México, loves Pizza and the traditional Mexican Pozole. Also, she has an amazingly good taste for music and movies 😉

  • Awards/recognitions:
    — 2009 Aspid Oro, for art direction in the category
    “Better internal marketing action”.
    — 2017 Recognition in the Typography category at the Clap Awards.
  • Education:
    — Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM.
    — Specialist in Journalistic Design by the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM.
    — Master in Typographic Design by Centro de Estudios para el diseño, Gestalt.
  • Scholarship:
    — Selected as a beneficiary of the program ‘Fomento a Proyectos y Conversiones Culturales 2019’ of FONCA , for her project “Elementype: a practical guide to typographic use”.
  • Career:
    — Master in Typographic Design. Calligrapher of the Mexican Society of Calligraphers and Illuminators. Speaker in Tipografía México, Mi TipoEs, Foro Chibalete/Tipografilia, UAM, UNAM & Cenart. She has participated in exhibitions of Typography and lettering work in Mexico. She has received the Gold Aspid Award and the International CLAP Award. Mónica Munguía Cejudo

” I’m a kind of ‘basket-type‘ person, love both” 🏀. Born and riced in Mexico, she´s passionate about basketball and typography, both fill her heart with happiness, also chocolate.

    — 2012 Selected in the category of application with Latin American sources in the fifth Latin American Typography Biennial, Tipos Latinos 2012.
    — 2014 Selected in the category of Titles in the fifth Latin American Typography Biennial, Latino Types 2014.
    — 2017 Recognition in the Typography category at the 2017 Clap Awards.
  • Education:
    — January-December 2012. Program of Support for Teaching, Research and Dissemination of the Arts (PADID) 2011 with the Design Project of the Latin American Typographic Catalog. Collection Tipos Latinos 2004-2014.
  • Scholarship:
    — Selected as a beneficiary of the program ‘Fomento a Proyectos y Conversiones Culturales 2019’ of FONCA , for her project “Elementype: a practical guide to typographic use”.
  • Career:
    —Master in Typographic Design. Speaker in Tipografía México, Mi TipoEs, UDELP, UAM, UNAM, Cenart, Diseñorama, and Tipos & Chelas. She has exhibited in Tipos Latinos, Letrástica & Tipografía México. She has been awarded for her typography design work by Tipos Latinos and CLAP awards. Sandra García Saldarriaga

Born and raised in Colombia, madly loves to grow vegetables 🌱. In her spare time, she takes care of her cat ‘Ch’ and cooks for her friends. Mexico is her new home.

      — 2017 Recognition in the Typography category at the 2017 Clap Awards.
      — Nominated for the 2013 Steel Pencil Award, Project Design Magazine Bogotá, Colombia.
    • Education:
      — Master’s Degree in Typographic Design from the Gestalt Studies Center Mexico.
      — Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad del Área Andina.
      — Draftsman of Architecture from the Higher Academy of Arts.
    • Scholarship:
      — Selected as a beneficiary of the program ‘Fomento a Proyectos y Conversiones Culturales 2019’ of FONCA, for her project “Elementype: a practical guide to typographic use”.
  • Career:
    — Master in Typographic Design. Professor at the University of Communication in Mexico City. Speaker in EsmiTipo, Tipografía México, Forum Chibalete/Tipografilia, UAM, UNAM, and CENART. She has exhibited her typographic work on Lestrástica and Tipografía México. She has received the International CLAP award. Designed fonts: Especial, Corona Typeface, Xihtli, Xantolo, Wuonniek, Emperatriz, and Colectiva. Details in our News Section.
